WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACH – KEELE UNIVERSITY
Keele women’s basketball team is looking for an enthusiastic, preferably experienced coach who is prepared to work with our team throughout 2016/2017 university year and if possible in the following years.
We are a friendly basketball team with all levels of basketball knowledge looking for a coach to inspire all players, develop and improve the teams’ skillset and promote a competitive and hardworking ethos. Having been promoted to BUCS Northern 2A league this year, we are a team prepared to work hard to retain our position and work our way up to the top.

We are looking for a coach that has:
– Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain in detail and relate to players’ needs
– Punctual, reliable and able to work well within a close team environment
– Extensive and in depth basketball experience
– Level 2 minimum Basketball England Coaching qualification
– Ability to adapt to the needs of all levels of basketball experience, from beginners to international players and to be able to challenge the team and each individual to reach their own, full potential
– Knowledge and ability to teach new skills
– Able to direct with clear and concise instructions
– Prepared and organised with pre-planned sessions and game plans
– Enthusiastic and inspirational
– Hard working, focussed and dedicated to the team
– Be adaptable, and have player and team ambition at the core of all sessions
– Use initiative and be resourceful to overcome difficulties and further progress player skills
– Kind, industrious, loyal and confident

The team will train a week; Tuesday 7:00-8:30pm and Sunday 1:00-2:30pm with an additional, unguided strength and condition session on Friday mornings with games, both home and away being played on Wednesday afternoons. The training sessions start at the end of September and last until May. Other details about the sessions, games and the payment and expenses will be arranged at the interviews that will take place at Keele University at the end of September with the beginning of 2016/2017 university year.
The team is partially divided in to two groups; the competitive BUCS team and a development squad. There is the premise of working with an assistant coach who is already a big part of our team and is committed and eager to progress.
As head coach, a Level 2 Basketball England qualification, DBS certificate and preferably a first aid qualification will be held. Public liability insurance must also be held and upon appointment, a profile must be uploaded to Coachweb in accordance with University regulations.
