AFC Wimbledon are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sport Rehabilitation, Physiotherapist or Sport Therapist to join our club as an Academy Therapist.

Tasks and responsibilities
1. To provide medical cover for training sessions and matches
2. To carry out injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for academy players (U9s-U16s)
3. To be responsible for the team on match days. This would include the pre-match medical preparation, the provision of on-field first aid and treatment, and the post-match medical recovery & follow ups
4. To keep up to date records of player injury & case notes
5. To write rehabilitation programmes and prehabilitation programmes where necessary
6. To effectively communicate with parents / guardians where required
7. To hand over all injury cases and updates from your most recent session to the therapist picking up the following session
8. To stay up to date on the latest research and medical findings
9. Ensure full compliance with all rules and regulations set by the Football Association, Football League/Premier League.
10. To effectively communicate with the academy coaches, and lead academy therapist regarding players injuries and fitness status
11. Attend all club in-house CPD days where required
12. To attend, as and when, appropriate meetings regarding key issues within the Academy
13. To always adhere to Academy policies and procedures regarding welfare of minors, ensuring compliance at all times when dealing with players under the age of 18 years old
14. To be aware of the academy’s environment, ethos and philosophy and contribute towards this.
15. To arrive at least 15 minutes before the meet time for training sessions and matches.
In addition to these duties, the job holder is required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Qualifications
• BSc in Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy, Sports rehabilitation or equivalent.
• Emergency First Aid / Pitch Side Trauma Course
• DBS check
• Insured to practice

Desirable Criteria
Experience of working in Professional Football
Experience of working pitch side
Experience of using PMA
FA Safeguarding children
Full UK Driving Licence
FA Medical Qualification: EFAIF, ITMIFF, ATMMIF
