Academy Fitness Coach U9-U16 – Liverpool Football Club

Job Description
A unique opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate to join our team at Liverpool Football Club Academy.

ROLE: Liverpool FC Academy are looking for a U9-16’s fitness coach who will be able to design, develop and implement appropriate strength and conditioning training and monitoring as part of the Sports Science and Medicine Programme for the Club’s Academy Players. The role will ensure that the Academy (and the Club) is seen as a leading provider of the best possible approaches to player fitness and conditioning. The candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of a world class high performance environment at the Academy. This role will work with other key stakeholders including other fitness coaches, coaching and physiotherapy colleagues covering all aspects of performance, player fitness development and analysis in order to facilitate individual player development plans.

PERSON: The successful candidate will hold (or be close to completing) a post graduate degree in sports science (or relevant discipline) from a recognised university. Football coaching qualifications and a minimum of two years’ working in an elite youth training environment are advantageous. A strength and conditioning qualification (UKSCA or NSCA) or demonstrable ability to complete the accreditation within an appropriate timeframe. Applicants must also have the ability to communicate effectively, an understanding of the demands of working with young players in an elite environment, with the ability to create the right ethos and development philosophy demonstrating role model behaviour. An understanding of the requirements around EPPP and the safeguarding of young players and to provide for the players emotional needs is also important for this role.

T&C: This is a full time permanent position, based at the Academy in Kirkby, Liverpool with the requirement to work flexible hours and travel nationally and internationally.
