Job Description
SHARES Lancashire is a not for profit company set up by the Skelmersdale and UpHolland Primary Schools to improve the educational and social opportunities of pupils, parents and the wider community.

We are looking to recruit dynamic and creative individuals with the skills to engage and inspire children from all backgrounds and to plan and deliver fun and engaging swimming lessons. The successful candidates must be able to deliver high quality, safe and consistently outstanding lessons for children of all abilities. The SHARES team works hard to provide a range of quality services to schools to ensure the children receive a high quality provision. Within SHARES there are several different projects we have running and currently the company has the following vacancies;

    Primary School Swim Instructor – £19,317 pro rata (circa 25 hours per week)

 To deliver the SHARES Swim Project lesson plans to ensure each child leaves school being able to meet the National Curriculum targets as a minimum.

 To deliver a range of opportunities for children including competitions and after school clubs.

 To deliver innovative ways to engage with non-swimmers and help to develop their confidence within the water.

 To deliver high quality lessons to all SHARES primary schools and assess the progress of each child in liaison with the Swim Manager.

 To identify children who are gifted and talented within swimming and help to provide opportunities for them to develop their skills further.

 To deliver high quality swimming lessons to children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities, ensuring they have an inclusive swimming provision.

 To promote awareness and recognition of the importance of the SHARES Lancashire vision, and its contribution towards improving the lives of children and families.

 To respect and maintain confidentially at all times.

 To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required by the SHARES Lancashire Company.

 To instill, promote and maintain a health and safety environment for all levels of staff and the public, in keeping with your levels of responsibility and accountability as defined under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Management at Work Regulations 1992, the County General Statement of Safety Policy and the Directorate for Children and Young People Health and Safety Policy.

 A core function of staff of the SHARES Lancashire is to deliver and promote the positive benefits of equality and diversity in the way they carry out their duties and responsibilities.

 To attend training as necessary.
