PE Specialist (Dance) 30 hours – First Step Physical Education – Yorkshire

A Dance Specialist is required to demonstrate excellent knowledge, be versatile and be willing to support other departments as well as work with and support junior employees, by setting an example and demonstrating professional and best practice. It would be advantageous for candidates to have an interest in other physical education subjects. This requires a candidate who is able to travel to various locations during the week and must have excellent organisation and time management skills, as well as a wide knowledge and passion for Dance
Candidates must hold at least a relevant teaching qualification or Degree and already have the knowledge to create and deliver fun, educational and safe lessons for pupils of all ages and abilities for various dance styles and establishments.

Knowledge, Training and Experience required:

o 2 years’ experience working with children; teaching or voluntary.
o Dance Teachers Qualification/NGB Qualification or Degree
o Ability to teach a wide variety of Dance Styles
o Ability to deliver at least 2 areas of the PE curriculum (combinations of Games and Dance, Games and Gymnastics, Dance and Gymnastics)
o GCSE Maths and English.
o First Aid and Child Protection Training Desirable.
o Committed to continuous professional development and willingness to undertake training where necessary.
o Level 2 in PE and School Sport – Training can be provided
o Level 3 in PE and school Sport – Desirable
o Please note: Driving License and your own transport are essential for this position
