Job Title Head Coach (Advance)
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check
Salary £24000 – £26000
Contract Fixed Term One Year contract with a view to become permanent
Hours 40 hours a week, inclusive of a proportion of both men’s and women’s first team fixtures – rota to be agreed at the start of the season
Location Oxford with travel across Oxfordshire and to Advance fixtures
Responsible To Head of Education and Community Cohesion

This is an exciting role which will see the post holder at the forefront of the development and delivery of a brilliant new chapter in Oxford United Community Trust’s history with a specific focus on our unique Sixth Form offer Advance. The post holder will work with the from multiple sectors to understand local need, secure funding and successfully deliver and monitor programmes to all demographics within Oxfordshire.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To manage elements of the delivery of Advance, including:

o Recruiting a minimum of two boys football teams and a girls football team,
o Developing and delivering a high quality player development programme including sports science, fitness, training and games programme,
o Working with The Oxford Academy to ensure players education is central to their time at Advance and ensure that playing is seen as reward for attendance and educational attainment,
o Developing and supporting the delivery of a wider holistic personal and professional development programme working across any programmes where there is a link to the business of football alongside The Oxford Academy’s teaching staff and Information, Advice and Guidance Team,
o Working with The Oxford Academy, develop Advance, exploring the possibility of delivery more teams across football and futsal and possibly other sports,
o Completing regular progress reports for external agencies, partners, parents and players.
o The development of the holistic elements of the Cricket programme at Advance and ensuring high quality coaching across both cricket and football.

• Have a good understanding of local communities and their varying needs, in conjunction with the declared strategic priorities of statutory agencies and other funders.
• Keep records of financial spend and maintain records, statistics and information, both quantitative and qualitative, for monitoring purposes.
• Help staff achieve high standard of delivery and effective monitoring and evaluation of all activities delivered.
• Contribute to the on-going development of the organisation and to provide regular progress reports to demonstrate progress against set targets and objectives.
• Manage a team of coaches ensuring they deliver high quality programmes that meet the real and genuine needs of the Oxfordshire community in line with strategic priorities and objectives, including regular one-to-ones and appraisals.

Criteria
Qualifications and Experience Essential Desirable
Hold a valid Safeguarding Children Certificate. X
Hold a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate. X
Hold a UEFA B Certificate in Coaching Football X
Hold FA Youth Module Qualifications. X
A qualified teacher. X
Hold at least a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching another sport or a qualification in fitness instruction. X
An accepted DBS check. X
A full and clean driving license. X
A D1 driving licence. X
Good knowledge of equality principles and an understanding of the barriers to participation which different community groups face. X
Experience of organising and planning sports participation and education programmes which cater for all members of the community. X
Proven leadership skills and experience in dealing and resolving performance and conduct related situations. X
Good knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluating. X
Experience of working with diverse communities. X
