Principal, Design & Transformation – EBRD – London

Purpose of Job
The Principal works in partnership with the business stakeholders and is responsible for leading change projects and operating model design work that impact the Bank’s organisation and/or operations. They are responsible for leading the collection, analysis and documentation of business requirements as part of the operating model, including customer experience, organisation, process, data and technology design. They may also be a Change Lead or Product Owner within strategic technology or business transformation projects. Usually, they will work in matrix environments with specialist consultants as well as with other Bank staff engaged in the project/s. Where required, they will work in proximity with the Bank’s technology capability teams to ensure services are technically enabled.

Accountabilities & Responsibilitie
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across the Bank and externally in order to drive change and help to achieve the projects’ anticipated benefits. Act as a focal point in resolving queries, issues and ambiguity during all phases of the project and working alongside the Project Manager, in the projects that such resource exists, to ensure the appropriate Change Management disciplines are applied.
Lead 1-3 change projects or initiatives and respective resources associated to these projects, including but not limited to:
Lead business analysis to design and gain acceptance for as-is and to-be business processes to produce sound solutions that meet business needs and supports the wider objectives of the Bank.
Advise, guide progress and support implementation of the projects as required, prioritising activities and setting objectives/targets for project teams
Manage stakeholders to ensure they are aligned and committed to the projects
Facilitate collaboration across departments and allocate tasks and activities within and between teams as required
Maintain accurate plans, cost estimates and benefit realisation models
Provide project status updates to the Programme Management Office (PMO) according to reporting schedules, and adhere to agreed project methodologies
Manage risks and issues appropriately, raising items to PMO and to the Director OC&P as required
Develop and deliver project communications
Act as change lead, and/or Project Manager and/ or quasi-Product Owner, as required
Coordinate project assessment supporting the production of business cases for investment projects necessary to secure project approval and funding (including formulating financial and non-financial benefits).
Drive innovation initiatives across the Bank along with championing new ways of working such as analysis practices and methods using Agile.
Work with relevant key internal units (e.g. ORM, IT, internal audit department etc.) to signal and address change needs and operational improvement.

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge
Knowledge, experience & qualifications
Proven leadership experience in area of background (eg. team leader/manager, product leader/manager) and first-hand experience in technology enablement and/or business transformation within a business department
Previous experience of leading the delivery of a complex product and using appropriate tools and techniques to identify slivers of value that can be worked into a meaningful roadmap and release plans (such as value stream and process mapping, impact mapping, event storming, user story mapping)
Programme/project management (agile desirable) and change management experience; respective qualifications (eg. Prince 2, Lean/six sigma, SCRUM certification etc) a plus
Proven track record as a product owner; respective SCRUM certification desirable
Demonstrated understanding of Agile software development, and generally industry best practices and external trends in technology enablement
Domain expertise in at least one functional area (eg. banking, policy, risk management, finance, operations etc); capable of providing advice and consultancy services drawing on in-depth professional expertise and experience
Experienced manager of budget, processes and systems; strong organisational skills essential
Excellent understanding of the EBRD, its mandate and strategy, the broad range of its operations as well as its interactions with its key partners, or ability to quickly gain this understanding
Finance Specialism
We are looking for an individual with significant experience in delivering business change in Finance departments. You will work with the Senior Responsible owners in the Banks Finance Group, facilitating process workshops for Finance functions, leading business analysis of the Finance operating model, with a focus on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) related requirements.
You will work with IT, Procurement and 3rd party vendors during the procurement and implementation of the interim and strategic changes.
The role incumbent will need to have domain knowledge in Finance, Accounting and Budgeting and/or in ERP implementation. We are seeking an experienced Analyst/ Project Manager. who has a proven ability to influence and work well with others, technical and non-technical subject matter experts, across all levels of seniority in the Bank. Prior experience in designing operating models for Finance functions, experience in Finance transformation and/or ERP implementation is highly desirable.

Skills
Relevant degree, or equivalent experience of working within financial services, corporate/investment banking or relevant function at a Group level
Programme/project management and change management experience; respective qualifications (e.g. Prince 2, Lean/six sigma, SCRUM certification etc.) or through on the job learning a plus
Solid understanding of enterprise/business architecture; ability to provide holistic and multidimensional business views essential
Proven experience in one of the levers of transformation (customer experience, organisation, data, processes, technology); Experience articulating Target Operating Models and/or other design experience
Demonstrated understanding of industry best practices and external trends in organisational development, change management and organisational and/or product innovation
Domain expertise in at least one functional area (e.g. banking, policy, risk management, finance, operations etc.); capable of providing advice and consultancy services drawing on in-depth professional expertise and experience
Experience working in project teams, including having matrix responsibilities for specialist consultants and/or internal staff on a functional basis
Domain knowledge in banking (for CSG alignment), finance/treasury/ risk/compliance or HR/legal (for Corporate and Central Services alignment)
Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
Excellent data analytics skills; proficiency in MS Excel and/or reporting/analytics software e.g. Tableau, Cognos desirable
Business process modelling skills essential; familiarity with BPM design/modelling software desirable
Strong oral and written presentation and facilitation skills, fluency in written and spoken English
Knowledge of agile methods and principles
Strong stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to influence and work well with others, with the ability to effectively harness the cooperation of peers across departments
Team player, able to work with and manage through others
Excellent active listening skills and interpersonal and communication skills in English to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels in the Bank
