This role is for an experienced development assistant producer with a track record of generating successful ideas through to commission. This role is specifically focussed on a streaming service available in America and the international market. The successful applicant will have a broad awareness and interest in documentary and specialist factual documentary content within this market.
You must be a brilliant writer, as this role requires first class, fast turnaround writing. It is desirable to have experience of managing your own slate of ideas, as well as pitching them.

Role Responsibility
You will be part of a dynamic team originating innovative documentary and specialist factual ideas. You will have a huge appetite and enthusiasm for new ideas, and experience of translating those top line ideas into marketable propositions.
You will need an understanding of the American television landscape and demonstrate you can originate ideas for the American market.
You will need to be able to work across a broad spectrum of propositions – true crime, presenter led, access-based documentaries, history, biography, environmental – but always have an ambition to develop innovative and original ways to tell these stories.
You will have really strong writing skills, creative flair and be able to take topline ideas and turn them into single page pitching documents as well as more detailed proposals.
Are you the right candidate?
You will have relevant credits at Development Assistant Producer level.
Proven experience in developing ideas for the US and streaming platforms, such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Discovery+.
Genres you’ll have particular experience in are: limited series single narrative (e.g true crime, true con); travel; and lifestyle
You will have experience developing ideas for world-famous talent
You will have excellent communication skills and excel at writing fast turnaround treatments
Successful track record of winning access to original stories
Strong journalistic instincts and skills
