Designer / Production Coordinator – Bethan Gray – London

A designer role with broader production responsibilities for our handmade collection.

Leading furniture and homeware design studio Bethan Gray is looking for a highly organised, practical, hands-on designer with good communication skills. Our W2 studio specialises in commercial design collaborations with leading retailers and manufacturers globally, in both the luxury and premium mass market sectors. In addition, we manufacture and distribute our own ‘private collection’ of handmade occasional tables and accessories which is retailed at leading destination and design stores globally, as well as directly to the A&D community. We are a family business that has a global reach.

An opportunity has arisen to join this studio and play a significant role in it’s growth to come.

The right candidate would have a minimum of two/three years’ experience in a hands on designer role in either furniture or lighting.

Candidates must be highly competent in technical drawings, 3D visuals and renders, and be able to work rapidly and accurately.

They will be involved in design and development of new pieces, as well as customising existing pieces from our collection, in both cases liaising directly with our suppliers.

They will also play a key role in the design and logistics of our national and international trade fairs and installations, overseeing the process. Therefore they must be able to manage timelines and project management experience would be a plus.

In addition to their design responsibilities, the successful candidate will be a key part of our production team. All of our pieces are handmade to order, and the candidate will have day to day responsibility for production management ensuring customers’ orders are produced and delivered on time and to the correct quality.

The role involves the potential for a high level of client and supplier liaison, so they must be able to competently communicate all aspects of design and manufacturing with our global audience. As such, fantastic written communication skills and numeracy will be required.

They must be passionate and enthusiastic about design, able to work collaboratively and possess an ability to self manage and motivate.

Due to the number of applications we will only be able to contact shortlisted candidates. The studio is very busy, regrettably please don’t phone or drop by!
