Position overview
ukactive are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to support the ukactive Research Institute with the delivery of original research and wider evaluation services. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the wider ukactive aim of getting more people, more active, more often.

Reporting directly to the Research Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing accurate data, insights, reports and analysis.

You will proactively provide support on a range of ukactive Research Institute projects ensuring the highest standard of data collection and comfortable managing, analysis, and interpretation of data, relaying internally to the ukactive Research Institute team.
Other responsibilities will be to keep up-to-date on the physical activity sector and relevant academic research and communicate these internally.

Specific Responsibilities
• Support the ukactive Research Institute delivery of physical activity programme evaluations and research services
 Data collection, collation, and analysis
 Clear, concise, informative and grammatically correct writing style with an attention to detail
 Monitoring and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
 Data management and troubleshooting support for data collection platforms

• Provide business development support and communications
– Monitoring of, and updating cross departmental developments
– Collation and circulation of business development updates

• Contribution to wider work of ukactive:
 Monitoring and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
 Monitoring of research and government policies that could affect stakeholders, the organisation, or present opportunities for development
 Supporting ukactive campaigns
 Delivery of research and evaluation plans that meet the expectations of all partners and stakeholders

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education, Skills & Experience
• A Bachelor of Science degree at 2:1 or above is essential and demonstrate achievement at undergraduate level in relation to research and knowledge pertinent to the role.
• It is essential that the candidate have experience and understanding of the health and physical activity sectors.
• The candidate must comfortable handling large and varied data sets with the ability to process and analyse.
• Ability to prioritise and balance demands, and confident and calm under pressure when meeting multiple deadlines.
• The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office with skills in SPSS and/or Matlab desirable
• Previous internships or work experience within research in physical activity sector is desirable.
• It is desirable that the candidate hold master’s degree and/or PhD
