Job Description
Introduction
The role of the Schools and Community Manager is key to supporting Hockey Wales in executing their strategic intent, maximising their engagement with education environments, and helping grow participation in hockey, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Main duties include:
Relationships
• Develop and sustain relationships with local authorities, schools and clubs building robust partnerships to support the delivery of hockey for young people.
• Implement school-club provision, supporting clubs to effectively engage with local schools, building sustainable relationships to improve school to club transitions.
• Implement a school/club mentoring programme to support sustainable delivery in schools and to encourage collaboration and learning throughout Wales.
• Work with coach developers to provide a mentoring programme for sustained school delivery.
• Support development groups, ensuring stakeholders are fully engaged to support.
• Manage a cohort of facilitators that lead the delivery of our school programmes.
Initiatives
• Manage the Hooked on Hoci programme, ensuring all primary schools are aware and have access to the programme.
• Assess the impact on Hooked on Hoci via a school to club link system/process.
• Facilitate the delivery of SMASH hockey, working with partners to ensure we have a sustainable offer for young people in areas of deprivation with limited access to hockey.
• Develop relationships with local partners to extend our offer of SMASH hockey.
Digital
• Develop and implement a digital offer for partners delivering SMASH hockey.
• Implement a digital hockey provision that secondary schools can deliver in line with the new AoLE curriculum, ensuring schools are supported to deliver hockey on the curriculum.
• Record and collate all data, ensuring it is robust and valid, where appropriate utilising educational institutions to support the process.
Competitions
• Support the events manager and co-ordinate delivery of localised recreational competitive opportunities, engaging with key partners and stakeholders.
