Asset Mapping Officers – MK Dons Sport and Education Trust – Buckinghamshire

Job Description

The post holder will be working with the Physical Activity Project Manager to undertake an asset-based mapping process across Bucks. The role includes working closely with communities and stakeholders. The preferred candidate would be self-motivated with good communication skills. Applicants should be prepared to work flexible hours; including evenings and weekends.

Summary of Duties
• Under take the physical activity asset-based mapping process in each LAF area across Bucks Including arranging venues, delivery of the events and consultation with local stakeholders and residents.
• To work closely with key partners and commissioners to support the day to day operations of the Locality Physical Activity Project.
• To support Physical Activity Project staff ensuring that they deliver a quality service in all aspects of their work.
• This will involve utilising the Community Champions to support asset mapping and working with appropriate partners from each LAF area.
• Support staff to recruit and train 38 Physical Activity Community champions through the framework of the 19 Local Area Forums (LAFs) in Bucks.
• Support the two main elements of the project through a community development approach. Including Physical activity community champions & Physical activity asset-based mapping.
• Support physical activity development through the framework of the 19 Local Area Forums (LAFs) in Bucks.
• To support project management of all associated project plans reporting back to Physical Activity Manager & Public Health team and (LAF) with recommendations.
• To regularly and effectively evaluate programmers of work/projects and contribute to wider evaluations, making recommendations as required for each LAF.
• To ensure that all records and data collected as part of the asset mapping programmes is gathered according to policy and legislation and are securely kept.
• Ensure the project continues to meet the aims of the Buckinghamshire Physical Activity Strategy 2014-17
• To be actively involved with promotional activities, attending events and assisting with the design and production of all high quality associated material for a range of audiences.
• To support attendance of internal and external meetings, representing the department as required across the county.
• To identify and meet the needs of the (LAF) local communities by deploying the Trust’s resources effectively and efficiently.
• To build effective working relationships across departments within SET as well as external stakeholders.
• To be willing to undertake flexible working as and when required by the service, enabling and maintaining delivery across the county of Bucks.
• Perform other duties as required which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education Trust.

Essential
• Demonstrable experience in promoting, planning,
organising projects (E)
• Sound understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation techniques (E)
