Administrative Assistant – Lord’s Taverners – Central London

Job Description:

The Lord’s Taverners are looking for a self-motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Regional Support team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support to our Regional Chairmen and committees across the country. We’re a fast-paced, friendly, supportive team and this is a great opportunity to break into the charity sector and work at the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day support to the Head of Regions and Regions Development Manager, and to Regional Chairmen and Committees to help grow the income and support in their Regions
• Work closely with the Head of Regions to create and ensure the implementation of the annual regional strategy.
• Promote the culture of excellent support and engagement of the Regions through effective and timely communications and relationship development
• Encourage and support a team based approach to the Regions, while supporting the link between Membership and Fundraising, and our Charitable Activity on behalf of beneficiaries

Key Tasks:
• Manage the upkeep of the support materials for Regional Chairmen and other Committee members, focussed around the Regional Handbook, including information on finance, organising events/fun days, obtaining auction/raffle prizes, wheelchair presentations, etc.
• Provide regular updates to the Regional Committees on news, events, and other matters via regular newsletters and other means
• Play a key role in organising the Annual Regional Conference and other Regional meetings
• Attend, when appropriate, Regional events and activities.
• Support Regional Committees in their fundraising including design of fliers, website maintenance, and event scheduling.
• Work closely with the Finance team in collating financial information in relation to the performance of the Regions
• Contribute to the ‘one team’ approach to income and reputation across the organisation

Person Specification
Essential:
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including confident telephone manner
• Excellent computer and keyboard skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• Excellent administrative, organisational and planning skills
• Interest in the voluntary sector
• Commitment to the charity’s mission, vision and values
• Ability to both work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Ability to work and plan carefully, systematically and methodically with an attention to detail and time management
• Ability to think and write creatively
• Proactive, enthusiastic and with a ‘can-do’ attitude

Desired:
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
• Knowledge of CRM databases e.g. SAP Business One
• Experience of minute-taking
