Cheshire FA – Football Development Officer

Job Description
Cheshire FA has an exciting opportunity for a Football Development Officer (Referees) providing development to grassroots football across Cheshire with specific and targeted work supporting and developing Refereeing
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of The FA National Game Strategy as well as leading on programmes aimed at retaining and growing referee participation. We are looking for a forward thinking, dedicated individual who is challenged by making a difference to football in Cheshire and who will be enthused by the opportunity to positively influence the football community as well as inspiring new and developing participation.
The role will report into the Head of Participation and Development and provide the lead and support for refereeing within the team. You will need to be a committed team player and able to demonstrate a collaborative work ethic when joining an experienced and creative team environment
You will need to be able to demonstrate your dedication and commitment to the development of football and have an ability to deliver within the County FA’s core values; Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Professionalism and Passion. The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills.

Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement an effective retention strategy for referees
• Plan, construct and administer an inclusive and supportive referee recruitment programme
• Ensure the development of an network of qualified referees
• Lead and develop referee coverage across all adult and youth football.
• Establish and monitor the identification of talented referees
• Provide leadership and direction for refereeing within the county FA.
