Accounts Assistant – Part Time – South East England – Rainbow Trust

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. This Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to maintain an efficient and accurate finance function within Rainbow Trust.

This is an exciting time for an experienced accounts assistant to join Rainbow Trust as we are an ambitious charity with a clear vision for growth and a strong sense of values. This role is working 2 days per week, with potential to increase depending on business needs. Your steady, methodical work output and careful attention to detail will be recognised in our high-performing organisation.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for performing a variety of general accounting support tasks including verifying the accuracy and processing of accounting documents or records; updating and maintaining accounting ledgers, processing supplier invoices and journals and other records detailing financial transactions which will include purchase orders, staff expenses, journals and petty cash.

Your attention to detail, accuracy and your ability to work in a steady and methodical manner will ensure you can efficiently complete the tasks required of you whilst following established guidelines. With a supportive communication style, you are able to work co-operatively with your colleagues in other functions and ensure that financial processes are followed correctly in all parts of the organisation.

Helpful and collaborative, you will thrive working at a steady pace within a structured job environment, producing accurate error free work. Having held a similar accounting role in a previous organisation of a similar size (small or medium company), you are fully competent with excel, word and email (MS Office).

You will have demonstrable experience of good customer care, building supportive relationships and producing high quality work, which is essential for a successful applicant. Educated to A-level (or equivalent), your confident use of MSOffice will support your analytical working style.
