Grow Wild Content Editor – Royal Botanic Gardens Kew – London

Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.

Grow Wild is an ambitious mass-participation programme that inspires people – especially disadvantaged and young people – to do something positive for where they live by sowing, growing and enjoying native plants and wild flowers. The programme is funded through a major grant from the Big Lottery Fund and is implemented by Kew from May 2012 to April 2017. Over its lifetime, Grow Wild will reach 30 million people, including four million young people aged 12-25, and galvanise three million people to take direct action.

The Content Editor will write and manage content across a variety of media, to support and promote Grow Wild activities. This requires skills in digital upload and relationship building, alongside creative commissions to help reach target audiences and includes commissioning copy, images, videos and printed materials, as well as content sign-off and upload to Grow Wild’s website using Drupal.

We’re looking for a talented person with ambition, to produce creative and relevant content to time, budget and standard. You should have a track record demonstrating core skills.

This post is one of two joining the Grow Wild digital and content team, focused on supporting activities that drive participation in our UK networks of funded community projects, flagships sites, seed recipients and campaigns.You will be based at Kew Gardens with some UK travel.
