Showroom Administrator / Technical Support – Sto Werkstatt – London

We are looking for a pro-active, enthusiastic, self-reliant and highly organised assistant to help us grow our ambitious material showroom and exhibition space in Clerkenwell, London. The role is an exciting opportunity offering room for the right individual to grow and develop technical knowledge of Sto’s product range and customer relation skills.

You must be a friendly, adaptable and solution-driven person. You will be confident is assessing tasks, using self-initiative to foresee where your skills could be best applied. Your organisation skills are exceptional and you are more than happy to help others and contribute to the team dynamic. Part of this role is as an ambassador for Sto, welcoming clients and potential clients to the showroom. Therefore, you must be a good communicator and enjoy meeting new people and striking up conversations. Although this is not a design role, you should have a keen interest in architecture and culture and have an ability to understand the Architect or designer’s objectives in order to provide initial support and advice.

Since opening our doors in February 2014, Sto Werkstatt has quickly become known for its lively program of exhibitions, talks, CPD’s, workshops and consultations. We are also proud of the press recognition our exhibitions have received including Architectural Review, Domus, Dezeen, On Office and Wired.

Werkstatt – meaning workshop in German– is a showcase for the Sto Group and a new east London cultural establishment. A full range of Sto Group’s products are at the Werkstatt for architects to play and create with, including glass and rendered rainscreen cladding, seamless acoustics, facade elements and photo catalytic interior paint coating. The Werkstatt also extends out from its hub in Clerkenwell to offer connections to Sto’s international network of technical experts with local and global knowledge.

About the role: showroom administrator and technical support:

Office support:

maintaining the internal calendar of meetings and CPD’s taking place at the Werkstatt
coordinating internal meetings and visits to the Werkstatt: booking catering, room arrangements, etc
supporting all Sto colleagues during meetings ensuring audio-visual equipment is functioning and refreshments are available for guests
maintain daily supplies for the Werkstatt – tea, coffee, water, stationary, cleaning products etc
maintain the day-to-day running of the Werkstatt office equipment and fire and safety equipment, reporting any issues to the event coordinator
capture data of visitors to the Werkstatt using SMC and qualify the importance of that visitor for the Werkstatt and/or Sto Ltd objectives
responding to visitors enquiries about the Werkstatt via telephone and email
coordinating external catering companies and staffing for Werkstatt events, exhibition openings and internal meetings
maintaining guest lists for the Werkstatt and responding to any event enquiries and internal meetings via email or telephone
first aid and fire officer for the Werkstatt
coordinating and managing the external cleaning provider and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and tidiness of the building

Technical support:

meeting and greeting visitors to the Werkstatt and being an ambassador for the space
provide first line of support for technical enquiries, this includes: capturing project information and client requirements in order for the local technical consultant to provide detailed specifications and advice
attending regional sales meetings as liaison between UK sales and Sto Werkstatt
maintaining an overview of samples available at the Werkstatt and ordering of samples for ‘leads’ generated from the Werkstatt

Exhibition and event support:

Attending evening and morning events as required.

The position is available for an immediate start if the right candidate is available. Salary will be dependent on experience.

Contract: Fixed one year, full time contract.
