Assistant Director of Education – Cognita Schools – Milton Keynes

Cognita is a worldwide group of 66 schools, with over 40 schools across the UK. We employ some 4,600 teaching and support staff in the care and education of 30,000 pupils. Since our launch in 2004, we have successfully built a family of outstanding schools where no two are the same. Each Cognita School retains its own unique ethos and offers a curriculum and range of services tailored to meet the needs of local parents. Wherever you visit a Cognita School, you will find empowered school leaders, committed teachers and pupils who are enthusiastic learners.

We are seeking to recruit Assistant Directors of Education to ensure the quality of education and safeguarding and to lead school improvement across a group of similar schools. Fundamental to the role is the line management of and challenge to headteachers and the overseeing/chairing of educational governance.

Our aim is to establish a team of senior educationalists who have a proven track record of leading and improving schools – not just their own but others too.

The Assistant Directors will lead a phase of education eg, Primary, Secondary and Early Years across the Cognita Group, providing guidance and expertise on current best practice.

These are undoubtedly very rare roles combining high degrees of autonomy and decision-making whilst being part of a very professional and high functioning team. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to our pupils, teachers and schools.

These roles will be home-based, but will require travel to a group of named schools across England and Wales.

Remuneration: Six figure sum, plus executive benefits.
